I believe this statement to be very true.
We went to Cardiff for a few days over the Easter period to spend some time with the in-laws. It was a nice little break despite the weather letting us down. On our last day, we went out to eat in the town centre. We decided to eat at one of the "all you can eat buffets" .. Now, admittedly the food was amazing, and there was so much to choose from it literally got confusing. However, I have a love hate relationship with these type of buffets for many reasons. On the one hand it's great value for money as you pay once and eat unlimited amounts of food as many times as you want and choose form everything they have available. But on the other hand, I feel like these places encourage, over eating, obesity, greed and waste. People literally go mad, filling their plates to the brim with everything and anything, then leave most of it, to be thrown to go and get more food. The waste must be incredible. How much food gets wasted in these places I wonder? People try and eat and eat and eat to get their "monies worth". It's like eating for the sake of eating, instead of eating because your hungry. Then there's the "guilty" feeling you get as you eat. I actually start thinking of all the people that are starving in the world when I'm surrounded by so much food...It border line makes me feel bad..!! So, in conclusion, I wish people would only fill their plate with what they need, instead of what they "lust" for unnecessarily. They say that the "eyes are bigger than the belly"..
I believe this statement to be very true.
