This is the problem with society.. and this is the reason why young girls often get misguided and later on get depressed with themselves. They want to be like and aspire to be like these "perfect" women that they see everywhere, they feel that they need to have shiny glossy blow away hair, be skinny like a stick and have no flaws or imperfections. They're made to believe that beauty is what they see in magazines and that sexual exploitation will help them get far in this life.
For the record, these women have ALL been AIRBRUSHED and have TONS OF MAKE UP ON. They do not look this way when they wake up in the morning. In other words, its all an illusion, its all FAKERY.. They are made to look this way to sell products, businesses and items. The photos are digitally altered and changed to enhance their "beauty"...
Why do women have to be portrayed as sexual objects ALL THE TIME? On TV, music videos and in magazines, Why can't they be fully dressed and look respectable? Why are we made to believe that women who cover up are oppressed?
How can women demand to be respected but do not respect themselves in the first instance?! Campaigns such as this one, annoy me. I'm sure that there are loads of other campaigns that are far worse than this, but I wanted to address this H&M one specifically in this post.
Beauty is only skin deep, beauty will fade with time, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and most importantly beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Beauty does not mean that you need to walk around naked or close to it. Beauty can be covered up, respectable and modest. Beauty is not just straight shiny blow away hair, beauty is also curly, wavy and coarse hair, beauty is not just pale skin but dark and brown skin.
