On a separate note, Never be the reason for someone's pain, you will be surprised how many things people can do to another person which can actually trigger someone to fall into Depression.
Sometimes Depression falls under the category of taboo topics. This is because it comes with a stigma. People make all sorts of assumptions about people who suffer with Depression. But the reality is, it can happen to anyone. Illnesses of the mind are far more complex than physical illnesses. A lot of people assume that if someone is always smiling and "happy" that they would never suffer from depression. The fact is, people only show you what they want you see. We never really know what people are going through behind closed doors. They may show the world that they are happy but behind closed doors they are an emotional wreck and their life is far from what they show to the world. Stress and Depression go hand in hand, they are both silent killers. Unless one is able to get the help they need to overcome their situation, generally it will only get worse. People who often don't get the help they need end up committing suicide. They feel as life is not worth living any more. They see no way out, no option other than to end it all. They cannot see past their issues and their problems. This applies to everyone in that situation, no matter what their status is, how wealthy they are, how good looking they are and how many family members and friends they have surrounding them. People say that suicide is "selfish" because it has a massive impact on those that are left behind, i.e family members. What people don't understand is that at that moment when someone decides to commit such an act, they are no longer thinking about the impact it will have on anyone, they want a way out , a resolution to their "problem", they no longer think rationally. In fact most times, they feels as if they are a burden on their family and friends, and that they will be making their life easier by ending it all. This illness is often misunderstood. The illness of the mind is one of the hardest battles to fight.
