Thailand (Phuket)  & Singapore Reviews

I was concerned about the long haul 13 hour flying time.. !! not only is it an extremely long way to go, but with a baby in tow, I was worried about how I would keep her entertained, quiet and calm for that length of time in a confined space.  She is at that difficult stage where she's just started walking, and is now curious and mischievous.. sitting down and being calm is not on her agenda... at all!

At the airport in Thailand, the staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. People with children are prioritised, Security staff are polite and not so arrogant like they are in London... people are generally kind and friendly....  UK please take note!!

The taxi that took us from the airport to the hotel was the worst part of the journey. He was driving extremely fast and very close to other drivers. To say I was petrified would be an understatement!! I was thanking God when we arrived safely at the hotel.

Sunsuri Hotel:

The hotel provides an excellent baby room full of toys and space for babies and kids to play. It's the first hotel that I've seen which provided a room like this. The staff were very friendly and very attentive to the baby's needs. I was definitely impressed. The hotel pools were nice, usually empty so,  very peaceful , clean and calm.
A nice resort, very leafy , picturesque and fantastic weather.
Dislikes:
I didn't like the fact that the section we were in had no lift, and our room was situated on the 3rd floor! very inconvenient with a baby and not well thought out at all. I didn't enjoy the food much. It just wasn't up there in comparison with other restaurant/hotel foods.
Mosquitoes...!!!!!. need I say more? ... yes, I got bitten everywhere and that wasn't a nice experience at all. Thankfully they did not bite Drissialemoy!!

The Thai people in general are very sweet and friendly. Phuket was very beautiful, the beach was clean and the taxi services were absolutely fantastic! The taxis are maintained to a high standard, air conditioned, clean and very comfortable. They use executive style SUV's and even wait for you to do your shopping then take you back to your hotel. The Tuk Tuk's are fun to travel in also. They will take you around the place for a small cost. Juices are all fresh ... very good for you... the coconut water is amazing, drank straight from the coconut itself.. !

If you go to Phuket, you must visit the Elephant sanctuary. We rode on an Elephant which was an amazing experience. The animals are beautiful. They are well looked after and cared for. This was probably the best part of the Thailand trip for me. Unforgettable. Scary but cool.

Singapore is an hour and a half away from Thailand.
Again the staff at the airport were fantastic, friendly, accommodating and efficient.
The taxi services are great. They will whizz you around wherever you want to go. They too are equipped with all the latest gadgets, and even have a camera installed for the safety of both the driver and passenger. They are clean and fully air conditioned.

The Ritz Carlton:

Staff are amazingly friendly, ready to help you with just about anything. Rooms come at a cost.... but they are maintained to a very high standard. The view from our room was amazing. We were on the Marina Bay, facing the water. It reminded me off Dubai. Tall and swanky new build apartments and blocks everywhere and a huge mall attached to the hotel. Breakfast offered a large variety of foods.. very tasty...
Singapore is a safe clean country and it's very cosmopolitan.
Disikes:
The hotel claimed on it's website that it was child friendly. Being the Ritz, one would at least expect a room of some sort to entertain the little ones... BUT the 'facilities' were very minimal with a few crayons and books and NO ROOM designated for the kids... hardly child friendly especially for a baby?! For such a huge expensive hotel this was a huge disappointment and let down. I would classify that as a major epic fail!!..

Overall though, a nice pleasant experience and one to always remember..

Travel is the ONLY way you can really appreciate how big a world it really is it out there. It also gives you the opportunity to experience other people's traditions and cultures first hand. Travel is an eye opener. The world is such a huge place, coming out of your comfort zone is a MUST in order to grow..
